Watterson appoints new PR consultant as company continues expansion
SYDNEY, Australia – 30 March 2021: Australian Independent Communications Consultancy Watterson has appointed former journalist Laura Bradley as a consultant, following significant expansion of the business over the past 12 months.
Ms Bradley was most recently the Digital Content Editor at micenet, Australia’s leading business events magazine, where she wrote long-form print features and shorter-form digital stories about the latest in the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) sectors.
Her role saw her travel to South Africa, Thailand, New Zealand, the Gold Coast and Darwin to review the destinations’ suitability for hosting business events. Her irreverent writing style has also seen her featured in Mamamia and Junkee.
Speaking on her appointment, Ms Bradley said she is keen to sink her teeth into the diverse set of clients at Watterson, and identify interesting stories that capture the attention of media and other stakeholders.
“Watterson practices the exact type of PR I valued as a journalist, which is the fostering of meaningful relationships rather than the meaningless dissemination of copious amounts of impersonal information to the media,” she said.
“I feel incredibly lucky to work with such a great group of people, many of whom have been with the company for a long time, which speaks volumes about its culture.”
Watterson Co-director Oisín O'Callaghan said Ms Bradley’s appointment has come at the perfect time as the company continues its strong growth trajectory.

Laura’s creativity and eye for news will complement the journalistic experience of the rest of the team.”
Ms Bradley’s appointment follows the recruitment of two other team members over the last year: Harvey Ferle, returning to the company as Senior Consultant, and Chloe Curby as Assistant Consultant.
Watterson has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months, working with a range of new clients including Australian motorcycle training provider Stay Upright; OT and IoT security specialist Nozomi Networks; Australian audio pioneers BlueAnt; and Australian power conversion technology specialist Rectifier Technologies, adding to the list of companies Watterson has engaged with in the sustainability space.
Watterson was also formally assigned to manage the regional PR and communications programs for existing clients including Avaya in Asia-Pacific and Boomi (a Dell Technologies business) in Asia-Pacific and Japan. The agency identified, recruited and manages local agencies in these markets on behalf of both companies, and is responsible for driving regional messaging, in addition to its ongoing commitments in Australia and New Zealand.
